Color Explosion Technique Tutorial

Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing with you a new technique tutorial. It is such a fun one, which I hope you enjoy!
I used Canson watercolor paper for the base, Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals, as well as embossing powder. The last thing I used was a spray bottle with water. Very few supplies, but you will create awesome results with them.

Now talking about missing, I have this I miss you simple card I created a long time ago, which I never got a chance ti share. It's sad, but I haven't used my Copic marked in over a year now, and I'm wondering if I've forgotten how to color! The only way to find out will be to give an image a try, but overtime I've sit down to start one, something comes up and I can't even start it!!!

I'm thinking once my daughter starts school again when summer ends, I'l have a little bit less interruptions, and a little bit more time to dedicate to the things I love. I'm really hoping for that, anyways!
On this card I used Graphic 45's Songbird collection and the Mia In Kimono Stamp from Wild Rose Studio.  I love the simplicity and how it gets right to the point as soon as you see it. Like I always say, simple is my preferred style. Hope you like it!

Happy Late-Thanksgiving?!!?!

Hello there and Happy Late -Thanksgiving!

Believe it or not, I've had this Thanksgiving post set up for weeks before it's scheduled post date of Nov. 27th, and for some unknown reason, my blog did not post it, as it usually does when I schedule posts for publication on specific dates! On top of that, I did not check to see if the post actually went live the day it was supposed to, as I usually do as well! So yeah, basically my thanksgiving post never got published on this blog. Ugh!

Well, like I always say, better late than never, and I've just decided to post it anyways today, which is when I noticed it on my blog's dashboard, marked as "draft" just when I came here to draft a blog post that will be up in the next few days (yeah can you tell I haven't even seen my blog dashboard in a while?! It's been a crazy end of the year for me).

Anyways, here's the original post that should have gone up on Thanksgiving day for you guys. It is very ironic it did not go public when it was supposed to, and you'll see what I mean when you read what I discussed in it. Remarkable! I apologize for it's delay, and I hope you enjoy it.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and it's a sad thing that commercialism has made it so you barely hear about it, as Christmas seems to be "what's up" from now until the end of the year!

I cannot believe the amount of Halloween, and every other holiday decor, hype etc, yet when it comes to Thanksgiving, we barely get to see anything at all, as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, as well as all the preparation for Christmas decorating takes over all the stores, schools etc etc.

Thanksgiving is SO IMPORTANT, but I see how every year, it all gets diminished to a meal interrupted by super sales. Come on! Have we forgotten the importance of Thanksgiving? I think we have kind of "let it happen", and it seems to have gotten to the point of no return. So sad.

Well, I refuse to let it go by unnoticed, and I made this card using the Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge Palette for the month of November.

I used several different colors of Magicals ( Golden Sleigh Bells, Red Hot Poker Orange, Autumn Maple Crimson, Canna Lily Burnt Orange, Cattail Copper Brown, Tibetan Poppy Teal, Sweet violet Purple Teal) to create the color gradation on the leaves, which were cut by the Tim Holtz Alterations Autumn Gatherings die. Once the leaves has color, I added a bit of embossing powder in Angel Wings Gold. I stamped the sentiment using a Stamping' up stamp set called Tags 4 You, using Chestnut brown chalk Ink and Twilight Bronze Slate embossing powder.

A Fall Hello

Hello friends!

Seems like life has taken over my world, because again I have succumbed to posting fewer times than I would genuinely want to post in a month, ugh! Totally annoying because of course I'm so super hyped about getting a rhythm and then life happens and I'm stuck like chuck lol!

Well, I'm not going to let that pull me down, and we'll just go ahead with the next little project I have to share with you.

Made a fall themed card, as everyone seems to be longing so much for that time of the year which is quickly approaching, and I just had to join in the fun!

Like with most of my projects, I've made a quick video so you can see the process of me making this card. It has a funky background that shimmers in the light thanks to my trusty Lindy's Stamp Gang products. The I Am Roses items I used are the perfect shade for the spray combo I used. This card will be going in a special someone's package I'm taking to the post office hopefully today (or Monday hehe!).

Keeping it Simple: A Birthday Card

Hi there!
It's been quite a while since I shared a project for my Super Simple Series, so today I'm sharing with you a birthday card I made, which would be super easy to mass produce because of it's simplicity.
I used I Am Roses Flowers for a decorative touch and I think it turned out pretty cute, don't ya think?

You can make your card any shape you want, but in this case, mine is a present. Just right for a birthday card, right? If you have a die cutting machine (manual or electric) you have tons of choices on which shapes to use. You can even try and cut some free-hand yourself (remember when you made heart shaped cards in school?) Shape cards are really fun, specially when you are able to fit them right onto a regular sized envelope. This particular one was a die cut by American Crafts which I thought was so adorable, and I could replicate easily in any size that I want.

From the card picture itself you can't see an unconventional way I used just part of an I Am Roses product, but I did. You'd have to watch the video HERE to figure out what that is!

There's always something you can count on every month, and that is for Lindy's Stamp Gang to put out a new and fabulous color palette to get the inspiration flowing! This month's color palette was super patriotic yet so full of possibilitiesm and you might have seen on the Lindy's Stamp Gang blog earlier this month what I created using it:

A Sympathy Card

Good morning friends!

Today I come to you with a  card I created using I Am Roses flowers.

It's a simple card which just pops with color. I love a lot of color, yet I wanted to make this a simple, but sweet card, and I think the I am Roses flowers I used, did just that. I used the small mixed pink  yellow white flowers (S10-623), as well as the white small fern leaves (B15-151).

The rest of the embellishments where from my stash, the paper collection is by Echo Park (Capture Life by Alison Kreft), and the sentiment came from an old Stampin up set called " Kindred Spirits"

"Thanks" Mixed Media Background Tutorial

Hello everyone!
I've been thinking of bright colors which are perfect for the summer, but which I've been failing to see lately because it's just been so dark, gray, and gloomy here where I live. It rains everyday! Everyday! Thunderstorms, lightning, floods, you name it. I'm sick of rain! I decided to make a bright thank you card to lift my spirits.
I started by adding water to my work surface (a piece of watercolor paper), and then added on top  some super bright colors from the Caribbean Cruise Flat Fabio Spray Set from Lindy's Stamp Gang. This set is one of my favorites, and is also really close to my heart, because I helped design it. Adding water first to my background allows for the sprayed colors to blend seamlessly into the background. I used Hisbiscus Rose, Mango Mania, Luscious Lime, and Pineapple Paradise.

After that, I started adding on the texture. I took a trellis stencil by Heidy Swapp, and added some Golden Soft Gel medium (Gloss), and also a bit of Golden Light Molding Paste. After letting them dry a bit, I used the same colors stated above to spray over the new surface created by the mediums. You can see in the picture below the different finishes they created on the surface of my card.

Next, I took my Signo Uni-ball White Pen to outline the trellis shapes all around the card randomly.
After that, I took extra watercolor paper, and sprayed some of the same colors I used on my background, so I would have some colored paper where to emboss the trellis shapes you see added on top of the molding paste.
I used a Stampin up Stamp set called "Mosaic Madness" to get these individual mosaics, very similar in shape to the trellis background. I embossed them unto my colored watercolor paper pieces using Lindy's two-toned embossing powder in the color Midnight Pewter.
After embossing the shapes, I punched them out using the coordinating punch to the stamp set (sold by Stampin' up). I also stamped randomly with Archival Black Ink on my background, using a thiner stamp from the same stamp set. With some dimensional adhesive I glued the individual mosaics I embossed, to the background.

I took the wood veneer word "thanks", from Studio Calico, and embossed it using the same embossing powder I used before, and adhered that to the card. I lined it with my white pen to make it stand out.
My last step was to add the background to my white card base, and sprinkle and splatter some Frozen Jack Frost Spray on top of it, to finish off the card.

Today I'm excited to share with you a Copic colored card and tutorial using I Am Roses Flowers. It has been quite a while since I've used my Copic markers. Ever since I started the process of selling our house and then the move, I have not touched them pretty much. Sad story, but true! Over six months (8months to be exact really) has been quite a long time, and I was craving to color.
As many of you know, I have been working, slowly but surely on my new studio/office, and I've finally managed to get my Copics organized in a place that is convenient for me, so I decided to finally use them, and color Some Odd Girl's "Thank You Mae" stamp. As time has gone by, I've come to love more and more her images, and have been itching to color a few. I'm a little rusty on my coloring, but I had fun!

I used several I Am Roses flowers, and Simon Says Stamps Dies (which are new to my collection, and I love them!), as well as one of Simon Says Stamps' stamp set. Please see the list and links of the products that I used at the end of this post (Copic color combos will also be listed). One Layer Easter Card

Hello there again!
So happy to be back today to share with your a card, for my Super Simple Project Series here on this blog. It's been quite a while since I've shared a super simple project, and Easter is right around the corner, so I thought, why not give it a go now, right? You can find more of my Super Simple Project Series by clicking on the "Super Simple Series" label on the lower right hand side of this blog post (scroll down and check the toolbar for the labels list).
I created this one layer Easter themed card using some Lindy's Stamp Gang products, and it's an easy and quick one to create. I used several Lindy's sprays for the back ground: Curioser Chartreuse, Pink Ladies Pink, California Poppy Gold and Tibetan Poppy Teal. I also used Midnight Copper embossing powder by LSG. If you have not tried Lindy's embossing powder, I have to tell you, you are missing out. The two tone on the powders is super unique, and I truly do love them. The effects you get with them are like nothing you get with regular embossing powder. I totally recommend you try some, you'll notice the difference immediately, from all your other powders for sure.

March already?!?!

Hi everyone, and happy March! It is amazing how this year seems to just be flying by! It seems to me like just a few days ago it was New Year's Day, and all of a sudden we jumped right into March! Maybe I feel like this because February was a super short month, but I just can't grasp that we are in March already! Crazy!!!

Winter Card- Joy

Hello everyone!

Winter is finally here, and today I wanted to share with you a card perfect for this time of the year. I used several Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powders on top of the wood veneers I used and I loved the look.

The wood veneer trees I got at my local Michael's, and I embossed them using Magic Moon Pearls embossing powder. Love the pearlescent finish with the peak of the wood tone in the background. The snowflakes are Maya Road wood veneers, that I embossed using Madonna Robe Blue Gold embossing powder. I also embossed a tiny bird you can see peeking on top of the white Prima resin birdhouse. It is a Studio Calico wood veneer that I embossed using Bougainvillea Red Teal embossing powder, so pretty!

I used 7 Dots Studio Paper for the background, a doily, and a sticker word from Pebbles ink. Super dimensional card, I hoped you liked it!

Gratitude is and Action Word

Hello everyone! November is here! Can you believe it? I sure can't! Seems like the days are flying by and sooner than we know it Christmas will be around the corner.

As you know, I've been quite the busy bee lately and I promised I would share as soon as I could why. Well, this is it. I've been totally busy handling the sale of our house, and also the purchase of a new house. We are moving!!! and far!

Totally stressful and crazy process, but we are finally reaching the goal, as we have sold our house, and just bought a new one! So I'm up to my neck with stuff to do, packing, getting things finalized and well, I'm totally exhausted lol. I've been having quite a bit of giveaways on both my YouTube Channel, and my Instagram, so I've been also taking care of those, and I have been promising to do one on here, and hope to so asap. Been promising it for a while, but time has just gotten away from me guys. Hope you can bare with me. Just keep a look out, because IT IS happening lol.

Today I wanted to share a card I made using my favorite Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powders. If you are a follower, you know I love using their embossing powders, and I have been for years. I love their two toned effect. and I feel they give an extra special touch to all the projects I use them in.

For this card, I used the Glitz Spritz in Cactus Gold, and three different embossing powders: Imperial Crown Purple Gold, Midnight Copper, and Oakleaf Olive Gold. 

I loved the way these looked together, and hope you enjoy watching the process video at the end of this post. 

October Color Challenge with Lindy's Stamp Gang!

Hello friends!
Yes, I am still alive and kicking LOL! I truly apologize, because I know I haven't been present on the blog as much as I'd like to, for quite a while now. Basically, I have been extremely consumed both mentally, physically, and emotionally with a lot I have going on around here............ definitely lots going on around here (don't worry, it's nothing bad), but once things become a little bit more concrete, I think I'll feel comfortable sharing. Until then, please know I'm still around, you can keep track of what I'm up to through my YouTube channel, or my Instagram account, but until I'm more specific, just know, I really haven't had enough time for crafting, because I've been involved with a lot of things at home.  My mojo has definitely suffered, as I have not been crative for quite a bit now, BUT, I made this cute card as an inspiration piece for the Lindy's Stamp Gang october Color Challenge. I've been designing for Lindy's Stamp Gang for several years now, and I cannot tell you how much I enjoy using the products.
This month's Color Challenge uses a color combo a barely use, so it was extra challenging for me, but in the end, I'm happy with the result: a simple card with tons of texture.

Mature and Girly Birthday Card

Happy Labor Day everyone!

Today, I wanted to share with you my inspiration piece for the Lindy's Stamp Gang's September Color Challenge. Every month, LSG puts out a great color combo to inspire, and all the design team members have a lot of fun playing around to show different interpretations of the inspiration picture. This month the inspiration piece was the one below.

 Definitely not a combination I use very often, because I find that I do not use a lot of purples, but I gave it a try and used some of my favoriet Hero Arts and Stampin' up stamps to create the following card.

I used two different LSG embossing powders in this card: Oak Leaf Olive Gold and Magic Moon Pearls. I also used a few Starburst Stains: Green With Envy Green, Tea Pot Purple and Cosmopolitan Pink. I have a detailed video tutorial on my YouTube Channel, on how I created this card, and in it, you can see how all the materials went from being white, to being colorful and shimmery.
This is a perfect birthday for a mother, a grandma and even your mother in law. Girly, elegant, yet colorful and full of dimension.

Fluttering Butterflies

Summer is almost over, can you believe it?! My summer has been packed with tons of activities, and lots of cool little trips. I've definitely been busy, have you? 

Now, all the talk is about back to school, and getting organized for the new school year. Everyone will be going back to their regular routines, and then barge into getting ready for the holidays! Amazing how time flies bye these days.

Today, I wanted to share with you this card I created using Lindy's Stamp Gang Products. When I look at it I see August...what I mean by that is, I usually envision the months in my mind having some sort of color theme, and to me, this is how August is, rich, colorful and super bright!

 I used many different Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Stains to make the background of the card, as well as the color on the butterflies. The method of applying color however, on those two things were completely different. I sprayed the background, and I painted the butterflies using a thin brush (two different methods of applying color, but both very effective). Can you see all the shimmer? I embossed the butterflies using black Versafine Ink, and Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder in Magic Moon Pearls, so the ebossing comes out black, but with a pearlescent finish. I love it! The pictures really don't do it justice.

The Starburst Stains I used were the following: Wake Me Up Before You Go Gold, Pretty In Pink Pink, Ponderosa Pines Green, Fuzzy Navel Peach and Bayou Boogie Gold.

I used a Prima Stamp set as well as Hero Art's Antique Engravings Stamp set, for the butterflies. The Sentiment of the card is from and Inkadinkado Stamp set. The background resist was done using the Hero Art's Raindrop Background stamp, as well as the Magic Moon Pearls embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

The white you see behind the butterflies, is a piece of white vellum which I dry embossed using a Stampin' up embossing folder, and glued down to the card using some paper lace from my stash.

I added some Gold Stickles in some areas of the butterflies, specially the biggest one, just for some extra bling. I hope you enjoyed this card, as much as I did making it. Take care everyne, and have a safe end of the summer!

Projects with My Favorite Things Stamps and Dies

Hello everybody!
Today I wanted to share with you a few projects I created using My Favorite Things Stamps and Dies.  I have a coupon code you can use to get 10% off of your entire purchase. Anyways, lets get to the projects, shall we?
The first thing I made was this altered glassine bag. I used Echo Park's This and That Collection, which is super colorful. I stamped the MFT's Pure Innocence Dress up Diva Stamp, and used one of the sentiments of that stamp set as well. I also used some MFT Dienamics when altering this bag, specifically the Laina Lamb Design Dienamic Accent it- Celebrate die, and the MFT Dienamics Wonky Scallop Border. I cut the banner where the stamped sentiment is myself using my scissors. I colored the image using my Copic Markers, and I also did some paper piecing. To add a little bit more interest, I also added some gems and flocking to her outfit. She's totally a diva in my opinion, ha!

 The next thing I created was a card, using the Wendy Burns Design stamp set for MFT called You're so Special to me. the image is super whimsical, and I totally love her cuteness. I colored her with my Copic markers, and paper pieced her outfit, boots, and purse. I used the My Mind's Eye Collectable Unforgettable collection on this card, and also used two different MFT Dienamics Dies: Jumbo Cloud Stax , and the Farm Fence Die. Isn't she totally adorable? I love that image!

Finally,  I also made a cute Tea Holder, perfect to use as a gift favor, or just to add to a care package. In the picture below you can see the front, back, and inside of the holder I created using the MFT A la Mode Stamp You're my Cup of Tea. I used the My Minds Eye Honey Collection, as well as the MFT Dienamics Well Worn Greetings Die (the Oval die of the set). I used the die to create the opening where the tea bag is inserted in the holder.

Today I wanted to share a video tutorial of a card I created. I used tons of beautiful embellishments from the Katscrappiness store, as I am their May Guest designer, and I also used a digital image from Sweet Nothing's Stamp Co.
I love how the card came out, and I hope you enjoy watching the process of me making it.

Lindy's Stamp Gang's Birthday Blog Hop

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!
Thanks so much for stopping by today. We are celebrating Lindy's birthday over at Lindy's Stamp Gang, from April 27th-May 4th, with a birthday themed blog hop! The designers have gathered up to share some inspiration using Lindy's (and our) beloved products. 

I've created a simple birthday card with a pop of various colors. I decided to use several of the fabulous Flat Fabios, because I've really been into using them lately. You can see my latest video tutorial, where I used a great number of them to alter a canvas HERE. This time I used Flat Fabios from the Caribbean Cruise Set ( I used Mango Mania, Caribbean Blue, Hibiscus Rose,  and Luscious Lime), over some handmade resist paper I made myself using Lindy's Stamp Gang's Magic Moon Pearls Embossing Powder, and different Hero Arts Stamps. What's that behind the cake? Well, that texture is vellum I embossed using a retired Stampin' Up Stamp, and the Magic Moon Pearls Embossing Powder again.

I also dry embossed part of the background of the card with a Stampin' Up embossing folder, added some ribbon, pearls and a handmade Happy Birthday Banner.
