February is all about Valentine's day, and so is the February Design Kit that the Paper Niche offers to the public. I wanted to share my first layout with the kit.
I used the jute rope to make a heart shape on my layout, and grouped all my elements on it. Clustering is one of my favorite things to do lately. The bold wooden letters by Pink Paislee where sprayed with some of my Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz from Lindy's Stamp Gang and embossed with King Midas Gold embossing powder from the same company. I just sprinkled the embossing on the letters while they were still wet from the Glitz spray. I only wanted some touches of the embossing powder, and for it not to cover the entire letters, for a slight distressed look. Most of the flowers were Prima, except one small one which was a plain white mulberry paper flower. I treated this flower the same way as the letters on the title (I used the same products), in order to make it match the colors I was using on the layout.
This layout is beautiful, Sharon. I love the jute heart and the clustering of flowers. I love how you did about 1/3 of the layout in red which just pops off the page. Love it!

ReplyDeleteI Love how you did the letters and the flower on your layout and will try this technique for sure.
ReplyDeleteMen are so hard to buy for. I have no clue what to get my DH either. I do know I am going to make him his favorite meal, get my mom to watch my son, put on a nice CD and do a sweet romantic dinner for the 2 of us. Not an original idea I grant you but why mess with a time honored tradition?

Umm you can make him a shadow box or a mix CD of songs u guys love and of course put it in a pretty CD case. Let us know what u end up getting him.

DeleteYou cluster beautifully! lol Thanks for sharing another amazing layout!
ReplyDeletethx 4 the inspiration
ReplyDeleteVery cute layout. It almost looks (on the right side of the heart), as if you punched out only part of the heart from the paper and curled it back (I can't tell from the photo), and kinda layered it over.... do you know what I mean, or am I confusing you?? LOL!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I think what hubby would like most is to spend a quiet romantic evening with you (aka, get an overnight baby sitter!!), play some soft romantic music, light some candles, get the bubbles and bubbly going (hehe) and put something on he's never seen. Like a purple argyle sweater, Christmas flannel pj pants and socks with the toes separated. LOL!!!
