It's almost the middle of summer already!!!

Hello everyone!
Wow, summer is really a busy time for me! I barely get a chance to stop on by, and sit down to share for a few minutes what I've been up to! Shame, shame I tell you, but hopefully things will go back to normal soon.
I have a huge project I need to undertake in the next couple of months, and that is to go through all my computer's documents, organize, trash, and back up many of my files. It's an intimidating job, but someone's got to do it before something goes terribly wrong, right? I've been going back and forth on the idea for a few month's now, but my time has been so busy lately, I barely even get to touch this computer most days. That's definitely summer for ya! My Emily has been loving going swimming, and she recently started dance classes, so little by little more stuff has been added to my schedule. She's growing up so fast!
I don't want to leave you today without sharing a project. I made this card a while ago, but for some reason I can't seem to recall blogging about it here, so this is the perfect time to share. I used one of Sweet Nothing's Stamp Co. stamps for it, and I love the simplicity of it. I colored her using my Copic Markers and I used some Prima paper on it.
I hope you like it, and I look forward to sharing with you many new projects and tutorials soon. In the meantime, I hope you are enjoying the summer with your family, and making the best out of the hot weather. Stay tuned!

A Mermaid's Summer Tag 2013

Its summer time, and I don't know about you, but I am enjoying mine very much so far. Summer is all about fun, beach, water, and hot weather.
Hello everyone!
I know I've been gone for a few weeks, but I've been on vacation, and I've just got back. I've been enjoying my summer so far, and I wanted to share with you a summery tag I created using Mermaid Sophie, from Sweet Nothings Stamp Co.  She looks too cute sitting by the water, I could not wait to color her.
Like always, I colored her using my Copic Markers and I added some distress, as well as regular Stickles to her tail, for a little bit more dimension, and shine. I used some felt clouds from Katscrappiness.com as well as some die cuts I made using a grass Impression Obsession die.
I totally got out all my fiber, and added quite a bit of it to the top of the tag, because I always like adding fibers to my tags.
The background, I embossed using a Cuttlebug folder, and I used paper by Echo Park, from last year's Summer Collection in the background of the tag. A touch of a few real mini shells finished off the tag, and I really like how it turned out. Do you? The banner I cut freehand and added a sentiment from one of those dollar stamps from Michael's or Joann's---Inkadinkado I believe is the brand.
I hope you enjoyed this project, and give Mermaid Sophie a try. She's really fun to color with her long hair.
Hope you enjoy your summer!

From start to finish: a summer card

Hi everyone!
Happy Friday!
Today I wanted to share a video tutorial of a card I created. I used tons of beautiful embellishments from the Katscrappiness store, as I am their May Guest designer, and I also used a digital image from Sweet Nothing's Stamp Co.
I love how the card came out, and I hope you enjoy watching the process of me making it.
If you are interested in any of the products I used to make this card, please go check out the  KatScrappineess online store, as well as the Sweet Nothing's Stamp Co. Store. Watch the video below to see the finished card, and let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy the tutorial, and have a great weekend!

Smile

Hello everyone!
Today's card is full of little details that I think make this simple card a nice one.
I used Picture Perfect Sophie, and the Echo Park Note to Self Collection. I colored her with my beloved Copic Markers, and used a wood veneer camera from one of the Studio Calico veneer collections (which I altered to match the card). For the background, I used craft card stock, which I embossed using Lindy's Stamp Gang Kaiser Rudolph Red embossing powder, and a Hero Arts camera background stamp.
I cut out some of the design paper to make accents for the card, and stamped the word "Smile" using a Dear Lizzy stamp, from the Neopolitan Collection, and Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink.
I'm not sure if you are going to be able to tell from this picture, but I embossed the polaroid frame using iridescent embossing powder from Ranger, just to give it a little shine, and shimmer without having to use stickles and wait for them to dry.
I also added some blue lace from my stash, as well as some dark square tiles at opposite ends of the card for a final touch.
I hope you liked my card for this month, and head on over to Tueday's post on the  Sweet Nothings Stamp Co.'s blog, so you can find out all the details of the April Sketch Challenge. There is a great prize for the winner.
Hope you are having a great week and that today is productive for you. Until next time!

Storytime!

Hi everyone!
Today I'm sharing with you my March project for the Sweet Nothing's Stamp Co. Design Team. For this card I used Storytime Sophie and Lucky. I used the Glitz Cashmere Dame Collection, and my loved Copic markers to color the image.

I love the colors of this collection and I made sure I pulled some of those colors to add to the image. I made this card a bit bigger than most of my cards because I printed the image a bit bigger than usual. I really wanted Sophie and Lucky to stand out. I hope you like this one, and make sure to check out Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. this month for their One Year celebration.
Take care!

Gift Giving Sophie

Hi everyone! Today I come with my first share for 2013 with Sweet Nothings Stamp Co.  I made a sweet birthday card using Gift Giving Sophie from the December release. She is perfect for holiday projects, but I also thought we could definitely use her for birthday cards, and I did.
I used My Mind's Eye Lavender Collection from their Sweetest Things Line. I love the colors and patterns on that line.
Sophie is so stylish with her Ugg boots and long sweater, perfect for the winter time. I love that she carries lots of gifts too, I mean who doesn't like gifts? I sure do!
I hope you were able to see Sophie in a new way through my share today, and that you were inspired.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!

Shopping season is here!

Hello everyone! December is here, and you know what that means, Christmas time! Time for lots of family gatherings, lots of great food, and lots os shopping! For today's project, I want to share with you a very simple, but super cute card using Sweet Nothings Stamp Co.'s Shopping Bag Sophie. Thought it was perfect for this time of the year, even though she's not meant to be a holiday image.
I glittered up the bags and added some Tissue Paper for a more festive look, and I personally think those bags make the image even more adorable. What do you think?

Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. has released some more adorable images this month and I encourage you to please visit the shop HERE and take a look. Every other month, new images are released, so I encourage you to also check out the Facebook page HERE, and stay informed on the latest Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. has to offer.

I know I have not been posting as much lately, but I've been really involved with stuff here at home, including some major stuff like potty training my daughter, and all the ones that have kids, know how that goes. Also, my mojo has been gone for quite a while, so that has not helped. I'm hoping things get back to normal soon. You'll be the first to see my new creations.

Hope your holiday shopping goes well! Thanks for stopping by today!

Check it out before November is over because once it is, she will no longer be available for free, you'll have to pay for her.

Say Cheese!!!

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a card I made for Sweet Nothings Stamp Co., but before I showed you what I made, I wanted to introduce to you all the new digital stamps that were released this month:

I personally think this is the best release yet! Check out the store and get some to do some Copic coloring with!

I made a hexagon easel card, using the Sweetest Thing- Honey Collection by My Minds Eye and Say Cheese Sophie from the digi shop. I have been seeing a ton of shaped cards, and since the hexagon shape is so in right now, I decided to give it a try.

As you just saw, Say Cheese Sophie is one of the new releases for this month, and I could not wait to color her in as soon as I got her. She is just SO cute! I'm a sucker for stamps with cameras on them LOL.
On her bow, and the details of her sweater I used, Liquid Pearls in the color Flamingo, just to add a bit of dimension and pearlescent finish, which added a bit more interest to the image.
I love the colors of this card and hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A happy hello

Hi everyone!
I'm sharing with you a card today I made using Sleepy Time Sophie, a digital image from Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. I used the Sweet Day Collection by Echo Park, and some flowers, sprays, as well as pretty lace by Making Memories.
The butterfly you see, I cut using a CC Designs butterfly die which I love. I resisted from coloring Sophie's pajamas Red...this time I only colored her slipper and bow that color LOL. I don't know what it is, but I LOVE Sophie using Red lol.
On the inside, pretty simple as always, just with enough room to write a sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today. The renovation here at home is looking good, and hopefully soon enough all will be finished and done with, and all the mess will be gone. I can't wait!!! Have a good day!

Friend: a card

Hello friends!
Can you believe it's August already!?! I really feel like this year flew by. The summer is almost over and kids are almost back in school! Talking about school, you should totally check out the new releases Sweet Nothing's Stamp Co. has to offer. There is one of the new images that would be perfect for a back to school themed project. Check out this month's new releases by clicking HERE.
Today I wanted to share with you a card I created using Tomboy Sophie and her cute owl friend. Yes! you heard right, an OWL! As soon as this image was released I had a vision and I tried to make it come to life, and this is what I came up with.
I got Sophie sitting inside a hole of a tree truck and her little owl friend sitting on the branches. I do't know about you, but since I was little I've always drawn holes in tree trucks, and well, I wanted to Sophie to sit in one and I made it happen lol.
I colored her and her friend with my Copic Markers, and added some banners on top of the card to go with the banner I made for her to hold. The paper collection I used for this card was the Hello Summer by Echo Park. Love the bright colors on it, just perfect for summer projects.
I embossed the woodgrain pattern by using Midnight Copper embossing powder by Lindy's Stamp Gang and a Hero Arts woodgrain background stamp. I also dry embossed the inside of the hole I made in the tree trunk with a woodgrain Texture Fade by Tim Holtz. I wanted woodgrain texture on both the inside and outside of the tree, but I wanted both textures to be different so the hole in the trunk would be noticeable.
Simple layering of the designer paper on the inside of the card, along with a small banner I created using paper and twine, juts like the banner I created in front of the card.
Hope you enjoyed today's card share and thanks for stopping by!

Sassy Sophie

Good morning crafters! Today I'm sharing a super colorful project for Sweet Nothings Stamp Co.
On my card, I'm using Sassy Sophie, and look how cute she looks standing in her yard, waiting for her wet clothes to dry!
I used the Summer Fresh Paper Collection by Simple stories and did a lot of fuzzy cutting. I love cutting all the embellishments from Simple Stories' designer paper! They are always so fun, and with them you are able to add tons of layers and dimension to your projects without having to add bulkiness. I love that, specially for cards that are going in the mail.
On the inside, simple like always, with just a bit of space for me to write on, and some more details of the designer paper line I used.
Totally loving Sophie's sassy attitude, and hope you stop by the shop and pick up some images for you to play with. A new challenge on the Sweet Nothings' blog will be up soon with a super prize for the winner, so stay tuned so you can join in for the chance to win. Have a nice day!
