Custom Ornaments 2012

Hello friends!
Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season. This time around I was able to make some custom glass ornaments. I had purchased the plain glass ornaments last year from my local Michael's, but I never got the chance to alter any until now.
These are my fist try at these, an I have to say, they look pretty neat hanging on the tree. They are simple to make and would make a great hostess gift too.
I have more details on these on THIS video on my YouTube channel, don't forget to check it out. I've also ventured into the world of Instagram, so if you are on it and want to follow me and see snippets of my days you can click HERE and follow.
Like always, I want to say thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate all of you who do, and stick with me, even at the times when I'm not posting continuously. You guys ROCK!!!

IF you follow my Youtube channel, you probably saw several video tutorials I made a while back, on different techniques usinf microfine glitter. If you missed those, you can always go back and watch the techniques by looking through the "Techniques and Tutorials" playlist located on my channel. All the videos there are titled so its easy to find what you're looking for.

Shopping season is here!

Hello everyone! December is here, and you know what that means, Christmas time! Time for lots of family gatherings, lots of great food, and lots os shopping! For today's project, I want to share with you a very simple, but super cute card using Sweet Nothings Stamp Co.'s Shopping Bag Sophie. Thought it was perfect for this time of the year, even though she's not meant to be a holiday image.
I glittered up the bags and added some Tissue Paper for a more festive look, and I personally think those bags make the image even more adorable. What do you think?

Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. has released some more adorable images this month and I encourage you to please visit the shop HERE and take a look. Every other month, new images are released, so I encourage you to also check out the Facebook page HERE, and stay informed on the latest Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. has to offer.

I know I have not been posting as much lately, but I've been really involved with stuff here at home, including some major stuff like potty training my daughter, and all the ones that have kids, know how that goes. Also, my mojo has been gone for quite a while, so that has not helped. I'm hoping things get back to normal soon. You'll be the first to see my new creations.

Hope your holiday shopping goes well! Thanks for stopping by today!

Uptown girl

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Today I wanted to share this winter card I made using Uptown Sophie from Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. Did you know she was a free digi for the month of November? Did you get her yet? If not, go over to the SNSC blog and check out all the details on how you can get her for FREE!!!! Check it out before November is over because once it is, she will no longer be available for free, you'll have to pay for her.
I used Echo Park's Winter Park Collection for this card, and I made a very detailed tutorial video on how I colored her, paper pieced her, and how the entire card came together. The video will be up later today, so make sure you are subscribed to my channel and Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. 's channel so you don't miss any of the tutorials posted there.
Hope you enjoyed today's card!

A card for Scrap Happy Ohio

Hi friends!
Today I want to share a card I created using some fabulous goodies sent to me by Scrap Happy Ohio. I was so super honored to have been chosen to showcase their products, but I was even more excited when I got these babies at my door. Aren't they cute?

Well, I was thrilled to work with these high quality items, and let me tell you, they have so much more on their site! You have to check them out! Click HERE to get a good glimpse of all the goodness they have to offer!
They have their own line of stamps and dies, and their variety keeps growing all the time. If you want to keep up on all the new stuff, make sure to like their Facebook page HERE, tell them Sharon smscrapper on YouTube sent you, and never miss an update!
Here's the card I created with my two beauties:
I colored in the image using my Copic markers and a few specialty pens and glitters.  I added some pearl accents, as well as some foam snowflakes, which complemented the paper collection I used nicely. It's the Winter Park Collectionby Echo Park, and the colors are so rich, and pretty. Here are some more close up details of the card.
I want to thank Susie, and all the wonderful people at Scrap Happy Ohio for sending me these goodies to play with. I had a blast creating this card. I hope you liked it too! Remember, to go like Scrap Happy Ohio on Facebook, and tell them Sharon smscrapper on YouTube sent you!

A Shabby Album

It's been a long time coming, and I finally got the chance to upload the pictures of this project to share with you! I worked on and off on this album for quite a while, and even though it's a simple album, for some reason it took me forever to get motivated to finish it.
I used the Portrait Accucut Die for the base of the album, which is chipboard, and which I cut in half to make the portrait shape into actual pages for the album. Since I'm on a "paper diet" (which I broke a few days ago, but I'm currently back on it lol), I told myself I needed to start using all the gorgeous designer paper that I keep piling up. What I'm about to say is kind of silly, but honestly, some collections I just have a hard time cutting into lol. For instance, I've been wanting to do some stuff with Graphic45's last year's springs collection, yet every time I think I might sit down and start the project, I put everything away because everything is so beautiful I don't want to cut it lol! Isn't that just CRAZY?! Seems pretty crazy to me, but little by little I'm pushing myself to use all my gorgeous paper lol. One that's particularly hard to get into, is my all time favorite Lost and Found by My Mind's Eye, the Sunshine Collection. Ugh! I LOVE that entire line, but that particular collection just drove me crazy and I bought everything of it, both the 6 by 6 and 12 by 12 papers too. I have stuff in mind for them...now it's only a matter of cutting them up and starting already lol.

Anyways, back to this album. I used one of my hoarded collections by The Girls Paperie. So sad they closed down, because their designs were pretty neat. I also used some of my leftover paper from K & Co.'s Watercolor Bouquet Collection, because some of the colors went well with The Girls Paperie stuff. I made a detailed video of this project which you can watch at the end of this post if you are interested in seeing all the details, but here are a few pictures so you can get a glimpse of some of what can be found inside.

Here's the video for you:
The goal with this album was to have a place to hold a bunch of pictures of my Emily's second year of life. I can't believe how fast time flies, and sure enough she'll be turning three pretty soon! I hope you enjoyed this project, and stay tuned, because I'm determined to get into my paper stash, and I think The Sunshine Collection by My Minds Eye is my next target!
Hope you are having a good week, and if your town is on Hurricaine Sandy's Path, know that you are in my prayers. It wasn't even a direct hit in my area, and still the beaches around here have been completely wiped out... stores are closed, and the storm's consequences aren't done yet with this area. I can't imagine everyone that's getting directly hit with that awful storm. Be safe and take care!

Super Simple Monday: Fly

Hello everyone! As I sit here barely able to breathe, since unfortunately I currently have a terrible cold, I think of all the emails I have to go through, the piles of stuff I have to get to, and don't seem to decide what to work on first. I went through my pictures on my computer, and noticed this card I made a while ago but never shared.
I used the My Minds Eye "Be Amazing" collection from their Follow your Heart line. I love the colors and graphics in the collection. I made this card for my husband and he loved the texture and color combo.
I added a tiny bit of dimension by curling the banner a little bit and adding some dimensional adhesive. I thought it would be kind of odd to have a polaroid of a polaroid, so I did it lol, and cut out the mustard polaroid frame using one of my Quickutz dies, and used the pattern paper with a polaroid of the kites to frame it within the mustard colored polaroid. I liked the finished look, and to me, it works lol.
I added some twine, and a button just for an extra accent, and I just love the simplicity of the card. It was really fast to make too!

XOXO

Hello everyone!
Id' love to share with you a card I created using one of my all time favorite paper Collections by My Minds Eye (MME), the Howdy Dooty, and a favorite CC Designs stamp. I love this image's hair and I love how her hair came out too. I colored her quite a while back, and I needed to make a card... she was just perfect for it. Take a look:
The XOXO ticket is from Recollections, and it's held on the card by a Tim Holtz metal trinket. The paper Carnation flowers on the card are by Wild Orchid Crafts, and the leaves are punched out of green card stock with a leaf punch by Martha Stewart. I also used a Webster Pages acrylic flower to mix in the bundle. The gold pearl sprays I got from the Dollar Store a while back, and I made the banner using a Jenny Bowlin Ribbon punch, and some twine from MME that coordinates with the collection.
On the inside, pretty simple like always, I used the same trim I used in the front, which I bought from my local scrapbooking store, The Paper Niche, and some more of the designer paper.
The entire card is a 5.5 by 5.5 card base, which I made using Craft colored card stock. I love this image and will totally be using her to practice my hair coloring. I paper pieced her and used my Copics to color in her skin and hair. She is just so sweet! Do you like it?

Say Cheese!!!

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a card I made for Sweet Nothings Stamp Co., but before I showed you what I made, I wanted to introduce to you all the new digital stamps that were released this month:

I personally think this is the best release yet! Check out the store and get some to do some Copic coloring with!

I made a hexagon easel card, using the Sweetest Thing- Honey Collection by My Minds Eye and Say Cheese Sophie from the digi shop. I have been seeing a ton of shaped cards, and since the hexagon shape is so in right now, I decided to give it a try.

As you just saw, Say Cheese Sophie is one of the new releases for this month, and I could not wait to color her in as soon as I got her. She is just SO cute! I'm a sucker for stamps with cameras on them LOL.
On her bow, and the details of her sweater I used, Liquid Pearls in the color Flamingo, just to add a bit of dimension and pearlescent finish, which added a bit more interest to the image.
I love the colors of this card and hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A happy hello

Hi everyone!
I'm sharing with you a card today I made using Sleepy Time Sophie, a digital image from Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. I used the Sweet Day Collection by Echo Park, and some flowers, sprays, as well as pretty lace by Making Memories.
The butterfly you see, I cut using a CC Designs butterfly die which I love. I resisted from coloring Sophie's pajamas Red...this time I only colored her slipper and bow that color LOL. I don't know what it is, but I LOVE Sophie using Red lol.
On the inside, pretty simple as always, just with enough room to write a sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today. The renovation here at home is looking good, and hopefully soon enough all will be finished and done with, and all the mess will be gone. I can't wait!!! Have a good day!

Super Simple Thursday: Colorful Bithrday Card

Hey everyone! I have been all sorts of busy lately (nothing new, huh? LOL), as you might have noticed by my lack of posting in the last month or so, and today it's just starting to get busier! Demolition starts at my house today, and I'm not looking forward to all the dust it will bring. We are renovating our master bathroom and you have no clue how excited I am (for the new look, not the dust and mess lol)!
Anyways, back to crafting. Today I wanted to share with you a super simple card I made using one image from CC Designs. I colored her hair quite a bit ago and decided it was time to finish her up and put her in a card.
I used Echo Park's a Walk in the Park Collection. I've used that collection so much I think I only have like 4 pieces of 6 by 6 paper left!
I used some ribbon I got a while back at local Michael's, and my Jenny Bowling tab punch. I added some pearls too.
On the inside, pretty and simple as always. I think this card is a perfect example on how simple can be quite cute, just like an elaborate card can be.
This card's also perfect for today because it is my birthday, ha! All I have to say about that is: one year older, one year wiser! Thanks for your loyalty and always stopping by the blog. See you again here soon :)

Friend: a card

Hello friends!
Can you believe it's August already!?! I really feel like this year flew by. The summer is almost over and kids are almost back in school! Talking about school, you should totally check out the new releases Sweet Nothing's Stamp Co. has to offer. There is one of the new images that would be perfect for a back to school themed project. Check out this month's new releases by clicking HERE.
Today I wanted to share with you a card I created using Tomboy Sophie and her cute owl friend. Yes! you heard right, an OWL! As soon as this image was released I had a vision and I tried to make it come to life, and this is what I came up with.
I got Sophie sitting inside a hole of a tree truck and her little owl friend sitting on the branches. I do't know about you, but since I was little I've always drawn holes in tree trucks, and well, I wanted to Sophie to sit in one and I made it happen lol.
I colored her and her friend with my Copic Markers, and added some banners on top of the card to go with the banner I made for her to hold. The paper collection I used for this card was the Hello Summer by Echo Park. Love the bright colors on it, just perfect for summer projects.
I embossed the woodgrain pattern by using Midnight Copper embossing powder by Lindy's Stamp Gang and a Hero Arts woodgrain background stamp. I also dry embossed the inside of the hole I made in the tree trunk with a woodgrain Texture Fade by Tim Holtz. I wanted woodgrain texture on both the inside and outside of the tree, but I wanted both textures to be different so the hole in the trunk would be noticeable.
Simple layering of the designer paper on the inside of the card, along with a small banner I created using paper and twine, juts like the banner I created in front of the card.
Hope you enjoyed today's card share and thanks for stopping by!

Beach Day Mini Album

Hello there!
Today I wanted to share with you a mini album I made using the July Design kit from The Paper Niche. There were so many yummy Authentique papers in this kit and I just knew they needed to be converted into a mini album.
I constructed this mini album from scratch, like I usually do, but this time I DID NOT use any chipboard to make it. I only used really nice card stock, and it's really sturdy and strong, because with paper layering and the pocket pages I created on the inside.
It's a relatively simple album, full of space for pictures. To watch all the details of the album, as well as a tutorial on the pocket pages I made, just watch the video below. Thanks for stopping by today!

Sunshine and Happiness

Happy Monday everyone!
One more layout to share with you using The Paper Niche's July Design kit. This kit was so fun to work with, all the items included were so colorful and so versatile!
I'm so loving banners lately, and cannot stop using them on almost all the projects I create. This layout is of my Emily at the park. She absolutely loves to go to the park and run and climb. The park for her is all about sunshine and happiness! She's growing up so fast!

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stamper's Big Brush Pens

Hi everyone!
Today I come again with another project for Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft. Mix and Match from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft makes designing with color simple. All you do is choose a color set that inspires you, then choose a medium. Mix & match as you create, and the color coordinated palettes give you the freedom to design your project knowing the colors will work beautifully together. No stress!
I used the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stamper's Big Brush Pens for the project I'm sharing with you today, and even though I used a totally different medium than what I used on my previous project (the self standing canvas you can see on my previous post HERE), I still was able to make it totally coordinate with that project. I meant for both projects to go together, and I think they do look great together ( I have added a picture of the projects side by side, at the end of this post).
For today's project I made the following card:

I had tons of fun creating the colorful accent piece of this card using the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stamper's Big Brush Pens. Their tips are so sturdy and nice, and there are so many fun ways to use them.
I made a detailed video showing you step by step, what some of my favorite techniques are to do with them, and you can watch that below:
As you can see in the following picture, both projects coordinate nicely, yet they were made using completely different mediums and techniques.

For more information, techniques and ideas on these, and other Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products,  please check out the links below:

Disclousure: I was compensated for my time to design and share this project, and was provided with the products to use, but all ideas, projects , and opinions are my own and unbiased.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. More projects coming soon, so stay tuned and have a nice weekend :)
