Copics and Nestabilities

Yes, these are two of the things that have been dominating my train of thought in the last couple of weeks...I have not been able to stop thinking about them, and the new releases have been driving me insane. Anyone else on this wagon with me? It's okay you can admit it...we are all adults here, right?LOL No matter what, I'm pretty sure I'm not alone...... and how do I know that you ask? Well, because some of the things I've been curious about are SOLD OUT everywhere!

It is really amazing to me, how we never fail to feed into this buying frenzy every time a new CHA shows us all the wonderfulness (is that even a word?) the manufacturers have to offer for the next few months....that is, until the next CHA comes along and blows us away once again...you would think they would run out of stuff to make, right? It seems like the creativity is continuously going, and more and more wonderfulness is being created constantly....and yes, we want it all!

Well this time around, like I mentioned earlier, Copics and Nestabilities have been dominating my thoughts, and for that, I've been making the types of cards you see below. These are the rest of the cards I failed to show you on my last post, but have already featured on my YouTube(YT) channel.
I'm still having some issues with my Copic Coloring, specially on the hair of the images, but little by little I know I'll get there.
To learn the technique I used to make the background of this next image, check my YT channel, under the Techniques and Tutorials playlist. I made a video showing it in detail.
I hope you enjoyed these. I've made a few more which I'll show you at a later time. In the mean time, I'll go on to take some pictures of my finished baby mini, which I'll share with you really soon!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you all have a great rest of the week.

Yes I will!

Hi everyone! Guess what?
I've finally made up my mind.
I've decided I should start blogging again! After all, I used to have so much fun doing it some years ago. I was able to meet a lot of great people through it, and foremost, I really started exploring my crafty side (to my hubby's wallet's detriment! LOL).

The fact of the matter is, that some of the reasons for which I hesitated on whether I should continue posting or not, are some that I'd rather not give so much importance to anymore. I've risen above them and have challenged myself to try to be better, and do better. However, I must accept and acknowledge that it's just a matter of time until I get into some sort of "acceptable" rhythm again (I keep re-reading this to make sure the grammar is right, and I have no spelling mistakes, yet I find myself adding so much more than what I originally planned to LOL----this will definitely be a long ramble!).

I can't be hard on myself if after this post I'm not able to post another one right away, the next day, even though that would be my wish (a post a day), but I have to be realistic. In the last 14 months, my life has completely changed (for the better), and with those changes come sacrifice, and a lot of self deprivation of "me time"....... now there's someone else, more important, whom I'm responsible for, who deserves the best of me and my time, not the worst...
I just have to keep pushing forward, and remind myself that I do this for fun, and that I should not feel pressure if at some point in time, I'm not able to follow through with a post, or a project as fast as I'd wanted, or as quickly as some of you might have expected. After all, this should be fabulously fun, no?... if not, I should not have any part in it, don't you think?.

I need to not be so hard on myself (stop it Sharon, stop it! LOL), and just enjoy the journey, like the talented Tim Holtz would say...I have some news about him and I, but I'll share that with you a little later.....stay tuned!

So back to craftiness (it was about time, right? LOL),I have a couple of cards I've posted on my channel (more detailed info of that channel on a later post), but have neglected to post them on here. My plans are to get that under control as well, and keep both mediums updated to the best of my ability. Recently, I was having some camera issues that slowed me down (I'm definitely more active on YT than over here----another thing that I hope to balance), but I purchased a new camera and I'm testing it out to continue with my craftiness.

For now, I leave you with two of the cards (this post is so long, I'd hate to make it longer with more stuff!). This first one is the Valentine's day card I made for my husband this year. I had quite a bit of trouble coloring his hair as you can see (If you subscribe to my YouTube channel you might have seen what I mean in what I filmed), but that's also one of my goals: to master the art of Copic Coloring sometime in the near future. In the meantime, I'll keep practicing, and hopefully you guys will get to see my progress as I move along on that journey as well.
I used some of the Tim Holtz ribbon roses trim which I LOVE!! It's definitely my favorite rose trim ever! I can't wait to get more because I know I'll be wanting to use tons of it in many projects. It's super soft, alterable and just the right size.

This next card is one I made for my YouTube buddy Brigitte. She was the winner of the first random giveaway on my channel (more of those coming soon, so make sure you subscribe: SMSCRAPPER) and I wanted to send her a little card together with the goodies I sent her way. Again, I attempted to do the Copic Coloring, and I think her hair came out really decent, considering I've started with the Copics not too long ago.I still have tons of work to do, but I'm really excited about the Copics right now, and I'm sure, if I keep up using them, I'll be able to get better at coloring with them really soon...or at least that's my wish!

I'm hoping to embrace my creative obsession, and hope you guys can come along for the ride.
If you got reading this far, thank you. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to hear from you in the comment section of this post. Please remember I appreciate each and every one of you. Have a great week!
