For this hop I created some paper ornaments which are great to add to your Christmas tree, and/or  to add to presents as an extra embellishment.  It's a little something special that is handmade and is very simple to do.
I used several different I Am Roses products to create each of the ones below, and they are:
I used Tim Holt's Rosette Alteration die (the original version), as the base of the ornament, and decorated with flowers, leaves, stamens and some ribbon. The handmade products by I Am Roses make them look so pretty, and make the process of making these super fast, so you could easily make a whole bunch of them rather quickly, and decorate your whole tree without having to buy a single ornament! By using different designer paper, ribbons, and colored flowers, you could create a variety of different ornaments, with any theme in mind. The possibilities are endless!

Here’s the how to, for your chance to win:
  • Hop along to each of the Designers’ blogs and be sure to comment on their individual "End of the Year” Blog Post
  • There are 2 HIDDEN BLOG CANDY PRIZES up for grabs in TWO of our hoppers’ blogs!
  • Be sure to Subscribe/Follow the I Am Roses Challenge Blog (http://iamroses-challenge.blogspot.com/).
  • Commenting along the way highly increases your chance of winning the prize package.
  • Comments will be CLOSED on 11:59pm PST on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21st
  • We will be randomly selecting 2 winners from the comments on two of the blogs and will announce the winners on the I Am Roses Challenge Blog.
In case you get lost along the way, here is a list of the I Am Roses Design Team hopping today:

"Very Merry" Gift Tag

Hello friends!
Today I want to share a gift card I created using some I Am Roses products, as well as some Stamping up, Sizzix and more!
It's fun to make tags for your gift giving, and that's what I did for this post. I made a super cute tag (if I do say so myself!) that can be easily duplicated and mass produced!

I used beautiful Cherry Blossoms from I am Roses, as well as some white stamens from the site. They sure add some more pizzaz to that American Crafts Wood Veneer Reindeer, which I embossed all over using Lindy's Stamp Gang's Twilight Bronze Slate embossing powder. I just love the color and texture he ended up being! He is truly handsome, don't you think? Haha!

I added some texture using a doily in the background, yet I kept it all crispy white to make it a little more "elegant-cute", instead of "kiddy-cute", know what I mean? Some Martha Stewart punches (holly leaf and branch punch) were used, as well as Stampin' up embossing folder (Striking Stripes), some ribbon, and the "Short and Sweet "stamp set by Stampin' up.

Love how it came out. Do you?
Make sure you join the I am Roses Challenge this month for your chance to win some awesome goodies!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner!!!

Hello friends!
Today I wanted to share with you a fun tutorial, on how to create cute place card holders, as well as treat holders for your Thanksgiving table. The adults and the kids will love getting these at their place in the table. It looks like it's complicated to make, but it's really not!

Used some I Am Roses Flowers ( G1-426) (L21) (L20), as well as some Stampin up Sweet Treat cups, paper from the Ambrosia Collection by Basic Grey, some googly eyes, and some lightweight chipboard.

These are super cute and easy to mass produce, so no matter if you have 4,6,12 or even 24 people coming over for dinner on Thanksgiving Day, you'll have no trouble getting these done. Hope you enjoy the tutorial below!

Altered Paper Bag Tutorial

Hi there, and happy fall!

October is here and fall is in full swing, and you know what that means, Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around the corner!

Today I wanted to share with you an altered paper bag I created for the I Am Roses challenge for this month on the I Am Roses Challenge blog. This month's theme is to use black and orange and the challenge is to use/create/incorporate a bag.

I altered a kraft lunch bag using one of my Gorjuss Girl stamped images, and my daughter loves it!

I used Teresa Collin's Haunted Hallow's paper, Lil Inker Designs Small Bow Die, Simon Says Stamp "Expressions for you" Set (die and stamps), as well as I Am Roses daisies in black (D1-505), and also a few rose buds in both black and white (T30-274) (T30-151). In addition i added a doily, and some black tule to the back of the bag as my base for everything. Please enjoy the video below so you can see how this came together. To not miss any of my other tutorials, please subscribe to my YouTube Channel here. Thanks for stopping by!

Repurpose Challenge: July 2014

Hello everyone!
So super excited to share with you today my repurposed project made for the I Am Roses July 2014 Challenge. The challenge for this month is to recycle or repurpose something, and I had this strange plastic sleeve from a cosmetic product I purchased, that was calling my name. I could not bring myself to throw it out, as I thought it as perfectly good acrylic that could not go to waste. It really looked like nothing much, but I just couldn't part with it, so......I repurposed it, and made a little treat holder with it!

I used Big Pressie Tia from Some Odd girl, colored her up with my Copics, used some My Creative Time Dies, I Am Roses flowers,  as well as some ribbon for the transformation. You could say that I also repurposed the turquoise ribbon too. Originally they were strips from an opened package I  received, which I ended up saving, because the color was so pretty. It came to good use!
You can easily add anything you want in this little treat box, candy, jewelry, a gift card....the possibilities are endless here. It was simple to create, and fun, this particular one, perfect for a birthday celebration.
I hope you are inspired this month to repurpose something, and submit it into the I Am Roses Challenge. There's a nice prize for the winner. Make sure you follow the rules to be eligible to win, and check below for the list of products I used on this project. Thanks for stopping by!

"You are my happiness" Burlap Panel Tutorial

Hello again!
Little by little things are falling into place, and today I finally get to share with you a project I created for Lindy's Stamp Gang, and the Winter CHA 2014 show. I enjoyed changing up a bit the editing style of the video, and I'd love to hear your feedback…I'm trying out voice over for the first time, and even though it was quite hard to get a little bit of peace and quiet over  here to record it (and to get the volume of my voice working ok---still needs more work I think), it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It's a start to finish tutorial, where I mainly used the Drink Me Silly Starburst Spray Set from Lindy's.
The set has a very nice selection of colors that include: My Mojito Green, A Bit o'Bubbly, Blue Hawaiian BlueFuzzy Navel Peach and Cosmopolitan Pink. It is FANTASTIC for those of you who love making shabby chic projects, as the tones are soft and beautiful. I also used my favorite Magic Moon Pearls embossing powder from Lindy's. I just LOVE the pearlescent look it gives anything you use it on! I'm sure you must know that already if you've been following me for a while, ha!

Here's a start to finish tutorial on this project which I hope you enjoy, and below that, some pictures of the finished project.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and hanging in there in the mist of my few and far in between posts. hoping to keep inspiring you as I get a rhythm going here hopedully really soon. Take care!

Projects with My Favorite Things Stamps and Dies

Hello everybody!
Today I wanted to share with you a few projects I created using My Favorite Things Stamps and Dies.  I have a coupon code you can use to get 10% off of your entire purchase. Just enter SMFRIENDS at checkout, and enjoy the discount. Right now they are also having a great sale on some of their stamps and dies, so you might want to check that out too. The discounted prices are great!
Anyways, lets get to the projects, shall we?
The first thing I made was this altered glassine bag. I used Echo Park's This and That Collection, which is super colorful. I stamped the MFT's Pure Innocence Dress up Diva Stamp, and used one of the sentiments of that stamp set as well. I also used some MFT Dienamics when altering this bag, specifically the Laina Lamb Design Dienamic Accent it- Celebrate die, and the MFT Dienamics Wonky Scallop Border. I cut the banner where the stamped sentiment is myself using my scissors. I colored the image using my Copic Markers, and I also did some paper piecing. To add a little bit more interest, I also added some gems and flocking to her outfit. She's totally a diva in my opinion, ha!
The next thing I created was a card, using the Wendy Burns Design stamp set for MFT called You're so Special to me. the image is super whimsical, and I totally love her cuteness. I colored her with my Copic markers, and paper pieced her outfit, boots, and purse. I used the My Mind's Eye Collectable Unforgettable collection on this card, and also used two different MFT Dienamics Dies: Jumbo Cloud Stax , and the Farm Fence Die. Isn't she totally adorable? I love that image!
Finally,  I also made a cute Tea Holder, perfect to use as a gift favor, or just to add to a care package. In the picture below you can see the front, back, and inside of the holder I created using the MFT A la Mode Stamp You're my Cup of Tea. I used the My Minds Eye Honey Collection, as well as the MFT Dienamics Well Worn Greetings Die (the Oval die of the set). I used the die to create the opening where the tea bag is inserted in the holder.
I really had a fun time working with all these products, and I have one more project to share with you in a few days from now. If you don't want to miss it, please remember to click the "Follow my Blogposts" button at the top right of this blog screen and be the first to know when a new post is up! Remember to take advantage of the sale, and the coupon code: SMFRIENDS for your discount.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you back here in a few days for another fun project. Have a great day!

Mixed Media Canvas Tutorial

Hi there and Happy Easter!
Hope you all had a great time with your families this weekend, as did I. It's really fun to see the celebration and joy of Christ's Resurrection.
Today I wanted to share a very detailed tutorial of a mixed media canvas I completed using mostly Lindy's Stamp Gang's Products. It was a super fun project, where I got my hands quite dirty, but thanks to my loyal scrubby, also sold at Lindy's Stamp Gang, my hands made it out clean and soft after I was done. I used a ton of awesome products and you will see them in the video tutorial below, but for your convenience, I'll be linking each of the products I used to the website, so it's easier for you to locate them and purchase them if you are interested.
I've been playing here and there with mixed media, but have not ventured out into sharing much about it, because it's something relatively new to me, and I'm not quite confident in sharing a lot about it yet. However, I had a blast creating this project and I hope you can see that in the video. I'm pretty happy with the end result, and that's not only because there is an owl right smack in the center of my project lol.
Here's the list of the products I used:

FLAT FABIOS:

EMBOSSING POWDERS:

STARBURST STAIN: Dark Chocolate Truffle

GLITZ SPRITZ: Cactus Gold

WORDS OR WHATEVER DIECUT: Owl
Below is the picture of my finished project, and under that, the video tutorial. I hope you enjoy!
Happy Spring everyone!!!!

Custom Ornaments 2012

Hello friends!
Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season. This time around I was able to make some custom glass ornaments. I had purchased the plain glass ornaments last year from my local Michael's, but I never got the chance to alter any until now.
These are my fist try at these, an I have to say, they look pretty neat hanging on the tree. They are simple to make and would make a great hostess gift too.
I have more details on these on THIS video on my YouTube channel, don't forget to check it out. I've also ventured into the world of Instagram, so if you are on it and want to follow me and see snippets of my days you can click HERE and follow.
Like always, I want to say thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate all of you who do, and stick with me, even at the times when I'm not posting continuously. You guys ROCK!!!

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos™ Colors

Hi everyone!
I'm super excited to be sharing a project I made after playing with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products. I was honored to be chosen to be part of their Brand Ambassador Team for 2012, and have been having a great time creating. If you're a new visitor, I want o welcome you, and thank you for stopping by my blog. Remember, to not miss any other post, just click on the "Join this site" button on the right side of the page. You'll always be informed on your dashboard once I publish a new post. If you like watching crafty videos, also click on the "subscribe" button right on top of that and don't miss any of my crafty videos :)
Today, I want to focus on Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos™Colors. They are basically creamy sticks infused with brilliant color. The color slides easily onto papers, and can then be dissolved with water to create watercolor effects, or left to dry for vibrant bursts of color.  You can try stamping with the http://www.fabercastell.com/design-memory-craft/products/categories/gelatos, or apply a field of color, and use a stamp to remove the color. They work wonderfully on flocked papers and embellishments too. They are acid-free and odorless.
The Gelatos™Colors are super fun to work with, and the things you can do with them are really cool. I don't know if you've come across them at your local craft store, but my Michael's has them, and they look so pretty on the display. When you see them you won't be able to resist...they look just like chapstics! Talk about appealing to the eye! They also kind of work like chapsticks, because you just twist the packaging to reveal more product when you need it. Cool, huh? The fact that they blend easily and smoothly with, or without water, is my favorite quality of all.
For today's project, I created a self standing canvas piece, which will be a gift for my mother in law. Her birthday is coming up soon, and I thought she would enjoy having a piece like this somewhere in her home.

I created a step by step video tutorial on how I created this project, and you can watch it below:
